You Too Can Get Your Fixer Upper On

Artemis Lin Design - Hearth and Hand - Fixer Upper - front porch with white board and batten, black sconce lights, and red front door

Hello again!

Are you one of the gazillion people obsessed with Fixer Upper? Well you can always count on Target to bring the aesthetic to the masses in a totally accessible and affordable way. All in perfect timing to help you refresh your decor for the holiday season! Read on for my picks to bring a little decor to your cart next time you're on a #TargetRun. Because why not make #adulting a little more fun?

1. Ironwork Log Holder

Years ago I remember coming across a gorgeous hand welded iron log holder very similar to this design (I think it's still in one of my Pinterest boards). Even if you never light your fireplace, the piece is pretty enough to have next to the hearth with a few logs merely as a decorative accent. Don't have a wood burning fireplace? No problem. You can easily use it on the front porch in lieu of a lantern. I can even see it used as a serving stand as part of a large holiday buffet set up!

2. Secret Stash

I love baskets and bins! They're great for stashing all sorts of things - extra throw blankets or pillows in the family room, shoes in the entryway, spare towels in the bath, who-knows-what in the mudroom, kids toys, pet toys... the list goes on forever. I might need baskets for my list! And this one's got a great vintage aesthetic and nice sturdy handles.

3. Go Organic

I'm such a believer in white dinnerware. A foundation of white is so versatile for all the different seasons, just change up the colors in your other tablescape accents and boom you've got a festive and seasonal table for everything from Easter to Thanksgiving! To help bring in layers of depth to the design, it's helpful to incorporate different shapes and textures and I'm totally digging the organic shapes on these plates.

4. Black it Out

I still have nothing but love in my heart for gold flatware, but I’m leaning a little darker lately. I think black could also mix great with existing flatware you already have to help add more place settings for those special occasions, regardless of whether what you already have is in stainless or gold. Don’t forget the serveware, too, here and here!

5. Serve It Up

This wooden tray would be great on the counter to corral supplies for a coffee/tea station, perched on top of an ottoman in the family room, or on top of a sideboard to hold adult beverages. I vote for #3!

6. A Touch of Gold

You didn’t think you were going to get away without something gold, did you? I like this vase for its interesting shape and the banding brings just a touch of gold. This could definitely be used as a vase, candle hurricane, or simply as a part of a cluster of objets for that #shelfie.

7. Mirror Mirror on the Wall

This mirror would be great above a dressing table or as a decorative accent. The chain detail is a nice detail that sets it apart.

8. Ring-A-Ling-Ding

I’m a sucker for wreaths and I just adore the sweet little bell on this wreath hanger.

9. Remember the Fur Kids

Because I have about 943 pet beds and I still can't stop. This one looks so plump I might be tempted to lay in it myself.

10. C is for Cookie

Seriously, a hammer shaped cookie? Yes please!
