Shop the Look: Concrete Cement Pendants

Whether you're doing a major overhaul or just looking to refresh an existing space, fixtures, hardware and accessories can go a long way towards setting the overall mood of a design. And if you're on a budget, they're a great way to get a lot of design bang for your buck.

I had the pleasure of working with some fun clients who wanted a classic white kitchen, but they also wanted to shake things up a bit. They live in a really cool loft space with some exposed pipes so we were inspired to add in just a touch of an industrial vibe while still keeping things classic. To achieve the perfect balance, we decided on concrete cement pendants. The light grey palette plays nicely with the veining of their gorgeous marble counter and backsplash, while the matte finish and texture provide a contrast to the shiny polished marble surfaces. It's also a unique look that you don't see everywhere!

Here's one more that isn't concrete but is in the same soft grey color and still has that industrial vibe, but it's not too much.

Feeling inspired? Here's a few picks along with where to get your hands on them!

Option 1 // Option 2 // Option 3 // Option 4

Which one is your favorite?

With all lighting, remember to make sure to take into consideration the amount of light (measured in lumens) that the fixture provides and make sure that it fits expectations and needs for the space. Often, layers of lighting are needed to achieve optimal results for a space. Form and function, people. I can’t tell you how many pendants in the market cap out at ridiculously low wattages (yes 40 watt I’m talking about you 🙄) which might be great for accent or environmental lighting but not over a hard-working kitchen island where lots of chopping and food prep will be taking place!

Until next time!
